Focus on the author: Imperia AG presents pirobase 7.2

Hürth – Imperia AG is now presenting pirobase 7.2, the new release of its Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system. In the ongoing development of the product the company focused on enhancing the user friendliness. The feedback collected from customers and pirobase users at the recent Imperia User Days has also been incorporated. This is reflected in the functional changes and enhancements to pirobase which make the procedures simpler, both for authors and administrators.

Inplace Editing and user-orientated search

The new version of pirobase includes, for the first time, an Inplace Editing tool which complements the familiar pirobase Smart Editor which has been enhanced still further in Version 7.2. The new Inplace Editor enables authors to create and edit any pages they require directly in the output view. The fundamentally revised search also complies with the authors’ requirements. At all points in the Content Management System it offers a standard form with straightforward criteria selection. Which content is re-used where, how the content is distributed over the various output channels: The new reporting functions enable ad-hoc reports to be compiled for administrators and power users which permit a detailed insight into the quality and structure of the CMS contents.

Open for Enterprise Search

pirobase 7.2 also offers a range of new options for clients and system administrators. These include support for meaningful URLs for all language versions of a site and the newly developed Enterprise Search APIs. This allows the contents of the pirobase CMS to be integrated into a search solution which crosses system and company boundaries.

Enhanced document management for better results

Imperia has also expanded the document management consistently in pirobase 7.2. In addition to the enhanced user experience, the new version stands out on account of its finely granulated access control at document level, end-to-end support of metadata extraction for standard document types and indexing of both internal and external content for the pirobase CMS search. The latest enhancement for the document management enables not only Microsoft SharePoint and SAP KM contents, but also media data from a pixelboxx system to be integrated into the CMS. “pirobase 7.2 introduces a large number of technical innovations and practical details”, says Jörg Krähschütz, member of the Board at Imperia AG. “But at the end of the day what matters is what this means for our customers – that pirobase is even easier to operate and administer and that they can consequently work quicker and more flexibly. And at the same time it remains a scalable and highly integrative ECM system which can be used irrespective of the application it is intended for and the underlying IT infrastructure.”
